Fall Recipes: Chicken

Photo & Recipe via

Since September is National Chicken Month I thought that it was only appropriate to have a Chicken recipe. Can I just say that this recipe is super easy and healthy?! Not only is this recipe quick to make, you could also pair it with any dipping sauce that you could think of.

Ingredients:

12 ounces skinless, boneless chicken-breast halves
1 egg, slightly beaten
1 tablespoon honey
1 teaspoon prepared mustard
2 cups, cornflakes, finely
Dash of black pepper

Directions:

1. Preheat the oven to 450 F
2. Cut chicken into 3 by 3/4 inch strips
3. In a dish, combine egg, honey and mustard
4. In another dish, stir together cornflake crumbs and pepper
5. Dip chicken strips into the egg mixture and proceed to roll into crumb mixture to coat.
6. Arrange chicken strips on an ungreased baking sheet
7. Bake for about 12 minutes, until the outsides are golden and the chicken is no longer pink.

This recipe makes 4 servings

Fun Facts:

- According to Marisa Moore, an spokesperson for the American Dietetic Association, the honey and mustard help enhance the flavor of the chicken without adding fat.

- She also says that using cornflakes instead of bread crumbs help create that same golden brown exterior without using oil.

Just To Show You I Care

Happy Hump Day Lovelies!

Care Packages are a great way to show someone how much you love and are thinking of them.

You can create a care package for just about any reason and occasion. Whether it is a long distance relationship, going away to school, military deployment or just to say hello.

When I was in college, I absolutely loved getting care packages from my parents. They always knew what I liked best and would send me huge amounts of everything. I would never turn down pretzel M&Ms or Brookside Chocolate Covered Fruits.

Once you start living on your own, whether it is in a dorm or apartment etc, it is so thrilling to get mail. It just makes it even better when you know that it is from a relative and full of fun and yummy goodies.

You can put just about anything in a care package, as long as it fits within the legal mailing size and weight limits. They most certainly do not have to contain just food. There are so many ideas and items that you could use to make one awesome care package.

Just to name a few:

- Candy
- Toiletries
- Magazines/Books
- Movies
- CD's
- Photos

and many more....

With everyone going to back school or going away for the first time, it is now the perfect time of the year to reach out to someone you love and show them how much you care.

What are some things that you would you love to receive in a care package?

Sweater Weather!

Photo via

The weather finally started to drop and it felt so good to have non 80 degrees weather for once. I was so happy for many reasons. One, fall weather is my favorite type of weather and two, because I got to break out my sweaters.

Sweaters are so comfy and are so easy to accessorize for any outfit. From scarves, belts, boots, beanies or bows, sweaters can be worn for any occasion.

Being a college student, wearing an oversize sweater or pullover, leggings and boots was just the most comfortable outfit anyone could wear!

Cheers to Sweater Weather!

Festive Fall Foods!

I absolutely love Fall Foods. They only come around at one specific time every year and it is only necessary to take advantage of them while they are still around.

Below you will find some of my favorite fall foods:

In my opinion, it cannot officially be Fall without Apple Cider. I do not know what it is but warm Apple Cider is just the best seasonal drink out there. There are just so many variations of Apple Cider out there that it never gets old.

Kettle Corn is one of the most delicious and yummy fall treats to date! When I was younger I never really understood why my mom loved it so much but once I tried it, I was hooked for life! I just love buying kettle corn at fall festivals.

Who doesn't love Apple Pie? Apple Pie is always on the table during Thanksgiving and there is usually not a piece left. It tastes delicious with a nice scoop of Vanilla Ice Cream. It is my goal this fall to successfully learn how to make an Apple Pie!

What are some of your favorite Fall dishes and treats?

Time To Spice Things Up!

Stay Strong Everyone! It is almost the weekend!

But until then, here is something that is sure to "spice" up your week!

One of the many reasons I love fall is because that means the start of everything pumpkin!

Starbucks recently started selling one of their most popular seasonal drinks, a.k.a the Pumpkin Spice Latte.

To me, Fall does not officially start until the Pumpkin Spice Latte hits the market.

Who doesn't love this drink?

It tastes delicious and smells even better.

The Pump Spice Latte is just some of the wonderful and maybe even yummy things about the Fall season.

When does Fall officially start to you?
